Band Black Magnolia competes at Hard Rock Calling

The Baton Rouge band Black Magnolia is try to bring rock and roll turn.

Lead singer Adam Pearce said, "Music just doesn't have any soul anymore. That's something we're trying to fix."

If Pearce's name sounds familiar, that is because the local talent of the Avoyelles Parish Bunkie / evergreen in most of his life is spent.

LSU in Baton Rouge, he and his life before relocating his workshop in Alexandria Louisiana State University went to.

He said, "The band has always been my passion. College was secondary. The band has gotten so serious and it's taken more and more of my time."

He and his bandmates have been Black Magnolia for nearly two years.

Pearce and his bandmates revealed the Hard Rock Cafe Battle of Bands competition in New Orleans.

Luke Starkiller and The Autopilots, their three bands have best chance to enter on the final round, which could send them packing to London for a slot in the Hard Rock Calling Festival.

Parish said, "We really just want to represent Avoyelles Parish. The other three bands are from New Orleans where there's a band on every corner. There's so much talent in Central Louisiana, and there's nothing (musicians) can really do. There are no venues. We come to Bailey's (in Marksville) every once in while and we pack it out."
